The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking several Mid-Level Flight Test Engineers located in Seattle, WA. This is a unique opportunity to work on Military Commercial Derivatives Aircraft within the Boeing Mobility, Surveillance, & Bomber’s portfolio products. Our teams operate in a dynamic flight-test environment focused on aircraft safety, performance, certification, and mission readiness.

The teams operate primarily out of Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington with some testing in Everett and Renton, Washington, as well as occasional testing in various domestic and internation sites for up to 2-4 weeks at a time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Executive and document testing of Boeing Military Commercial Derivative aircraft
  • Assure product safety, performance, regulator certification and contractual commitments
  • Provide engineering definition and authorization for airplane configuration changes
  • Utilize extensive airplane level knowledge to effectively provide engineering support to reconcile airplane discrepancies and support certification efforts.
  • Fly onboard experimental test aircraft supporting in various Flight Test Engineering roles
  • Work multiple shifts on a rotational basis to support maintenance activities.
  • Write flight test procedures and document tests results in real time and/or formally in test reports at the conclusion of test events

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience leading or conducting complex flight testing in an integrated test team environment
  • This position will fly onboard a test aircraft. This requires candidates be able a) To maintain a FAA Class 3 medical certificate, b) To complete survival training in flight gear (gloves, flight suit, and preserver unit vest). Training includes a surface swim, treading water, orally inflating a life vest, and a hypobaric chamber flight

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience flying an air refueling aircraft
  • Experience working on flight test program, preferably as a flight test engineer, test conductor, and/or test director
  • Experience with Flight Test Data and Analysis
  • Experience flying on a flight test aircraft

Summary pay range: $111,350-$150,650
