The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist based in Seattle, WA to play a crucial role in advancing Boeing's public affairs and communications strategy within the state. This position will support Boeing’s Northwest State and Local team by driving strategic communications that highlight the company’s workforce development activities, economic impact, and community partnerships in the region.

Responsibilities include managing media relations, crafting executive messaging, creating digital content, amplifying community engagement activities, and sponsorships activations that align with business and policy objectives in the Northwest region. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and proactivity, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and business partners at all levels throughout the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads media relations efforts, including drafting press releases, pitching stories, coordinating interviews, and managing local media inquiries and coverage tracking

  • Develops compelling written materials, including executive talking points, scripts, newsletters, and “In Case You Missed It” recaps for external stakeholders

  • Develops and implements strategic communications plans to promote Boeing's Washington state policy positions, builds visibility around company footprint and community involvement

  • Supports content creation and publishing for Boeing in Washington’s webpage, social media, and quarterly newsletter, in coordination with digital and regional teams

  • Provides strategic communications guidance to the Northwest State and Local team and contributes regular inputs for the State and Local Weekly Report and media clip tracker

  • Plans and supports events and site visits involving elected officials, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure message alignment and appropriate brand representation

  • Coordinates and amplifies community engagement activities, including regional grant announcements, district director meetings, and other external partnerships as needed

  • Manages Boeing’s regional sponsorship portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment, visibility, and brand activation opportunities

  • Coordinates and liaises with BCA and BDS program communicators in Washington to ensure alignment

  • Maintains the Washington community outreach presentation deck, Washington state backgrounder and local Issues and Positions documents

  • Oversees the design, development and content of regional advertisements, fact sheets, and printed materials

The selected candidate must be based near Seattle with the ability to work in the office two to three days a week, with some flexibility. Regional travel is expected. Some night and weekend work will be required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in communications

  • 5+ years of experience working in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines

  • 5+ years of experience with senior level executive support

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail (deliverables such as speeches, talking points, communications plans, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation abilities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 10+ years of experience in communications

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to influence others to drive results

  • Basic social media writing experience

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $133,450 - $180,550
