The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior SAP Architect to join the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) team in Seattle, WA; Bellevue, WA; Kent, WA; Tukwila, WA; Renton, WA; Arlington, VA; Dallas, TX; Hazelwood, MO; or Ridley Park, PA.  

We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4 Functional Architect to lead the design and optimization of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications landscape, focusing on end-to-end business processes and cross-functional integration. This role is responsible for driving SAP strategy, leading complex solution architecture, and providing expert-level guidance to project teams in implementing SAP S/4HANA and related technologies under discrete manufacturing in an Aerospace and Defense or heavy manufacturing industry. This role demands an individual’s robust forward-looking strategy that will leverage modern technology tools and services to translate the strategy into execution. The key expected outcomes will be to simplify processes & application landscapes via reusable and scalable processes and solutions.

A successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent Business Process, SAP Architecture leadership, SAP System Configuration, and Development skills in Supply Chain Value streams. You will work with Plan to Produce (PL2PR), Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) driving processes, solutions related designs, and delivery on large scale ERP transformation programs for Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA). Your additional focus will be to partner with other Functional and Technical Managers, Program Managers, SAP Architects, and Analysts (Business and IT) to lead the design, delivery, and governance of Boeing S/4 enterprise baseline/template focusing on reusability, scalability and first-time quality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to business and Information Technology (IT) executives on SAP roadmap, strategy, and innovation opportunities

  • Translates strategic business goals into SAP process and solution roadmaps and functional architecture

  • Leads the functional and applications architecture in a multiple-instance SAP S/4HANA architecture of SAP solutions across multiple modules

  • Leads and drives an optimized transitional applications architecture in a multi-phase S/4 rollout which includes multi-PLM landscape

  • Designs, configures, builds, and tests end-to-end business process flows to ensure alignment with SAP best practices and out of the box capabilities meeting business requirements

  • Serves as the solution owner for large-scale SAP transformation initiatives including greenfield, brownfield, and hybrid migrations to S/4HANA

  • Provides functional leadership during implementations following Activate methodology

  • Collaborates with functional and technical architects, developers, data architects, and business stakeholders to ensure cohesive solutions

  • Evaluates and recommends SAP tools, technologies, and partners

  • Evaluates new SAP capabilities relevant to the sector, including SAP Defense & Security (D&S) Industry Solution and SAP Analytics Cloud

  • Defines and enforces functional architecture standards, governance models, and quality assurance processes across SAP programs

  • Supports cross-functional program planning, business case development, and solution scoping for multi-phase rollouts

  • Governs Enterprise baseline/template, solution documentation, and adherence to enterprise architecture standards

  • Mentors and guides functional analysts and consultants to serve as the escalation point for complex solution issues

  • Supports the development of vendor evaluations and system integrator partnerships as needed

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in large scale SAP enabled business transformations

  • 10+ years of experience in a Systems Enterprise Architecture role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • SAP s/4 HANA certified, SAP BTP, Signavio Process Modeling, EA Modeling tools (LeanIx etc)

  • Experience with SAP expertise across multiple Valuestreams

  • Experience with Strategic and Enterprise thinking

  • Experience with focus and delivery of excellence

  • Experience with business processes

  • Experience with regulatory and compliance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $142,800 - $207,000
