Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Systems Engineer (Modeling & Simulation) (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) to join our Integrated Simulation Management (ISM) team located at the Integrated Airplane Simulation Laboratory (IASL) near the King County International Airport ("Boeing Field")

We are specifically looking for candidates who are interested in contributing to the development and sustainment of our BCA engineering and training simulators that will be used to support our existing and future airplane products and derivatives.

In this role, you will be working with fellow engineers across the BCA and Boeing Global Services (BGS) Training and Simulation Digital Services in developing the integrated simulation plan for airplane development programs; in capturing, validating, implementing, and verifying the simulation requirements; in validating and producing simulation validation data / data documents; and in supporting airplane certification for the engineering simulators.  The daily tasks may include:

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Providing support for engineering and training simulations, including coordination and resolution of technical issues
  • Conducting checkout of integrated engineering flight simulations prior to release
  • Supporting integrated proof-of-match (IPOM) activities (run simulations to ensure models are working together properly and match flight test data within regulatory tolerances)
  • Assisting in coordination of simulation release requirements and schedules, with opportunity to lead cross-functional team
  • Producing data documents, including Integrated Validation Data, IPOM, and Validation Data Roadmap (VDR) documents to support customer airlines' training simulators

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2+ years of engineering experience
  • Understanding and experience in systems engineering, including systems architecture, requirement development, integration, verification, and validation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve engineering processes across multiple functional organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Be open to new ideas and be able to challenge teams to think differently

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 9+ years of engineering experience
  • Airplane systems design
  • Understanding of airplane performance and handling quality characteristics
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Background in large-scale (preferably airplane-related) simulation, airplane flight dynamics or performance, and/or commercial flight training
  • Experience with PSIM, Pegasus, ADAPT, ASDIS / FrameMaker software applications residing in Windows and/or UNIX operating system platforms

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range (Level 2): $94,350 - $127,650

Summary Pay Range (Level 3): $114,750 - $155,250

Summary Pay Range (Level 4): $138,550 - $187,450
