Role Overview

This role is an integral part of the Boeing Sheffield production system and the continued growth and increasing performance of the Line Side Control Centre. Fundamental to this role is being able to calmly and effectively work production stopping issues to resolution. This role will require cross-functional collaboration when needed. You will also need the ability to communicate effectively, take a proactive approach to problem solving, and work effectively as part of a team. You will possess excellent people and mentoring skills, with the ability to support and develop staff across the business with systematic problem solving to eliminate issues.

A hands-on approach means you will get involved and lead from the front, providing problem solving capability and nurture teamwork to enable a smooth-running production facility. Driven by results you will possess a flexible attitude, able to deliver change effectively and strive for continual improvement within the LSCC.

This will be a shift working role covering the shift pattern below:

-Mornings - Week 1

Monday to Friday: 06:00 – 14:00

-Afternoons - Week 2

Monday to Thursday: 13:45 – 22:15

Friday: 13:45 – 19:15

Role Responsibilities:

• Prioritize, expedite, and resolve production impacting issues utilizing the LSCC resource and wider support teams to enable resolution.

• Effectively navigate and use the Shipside Action Tracker system to drive resolution and closure of production stopping issues.

• Support on defect reduction activates cross-functionally to support site performance.

• Strong understanding and experience of using systematic problem-solving to solve problems and coach/mentor staff members on correct usage of the tools.

• Assist with validation or clarification of issues by reviewing multiple information sources.

• Assist LSCC Team Captain in improving LSCC processes by identifying and documenting shop related chronic issues.

• Participate in site tier meetings where required to elevate SAT constraints to functional leaders and coordinate effective utilisation of the LSCC.

• Understand the performance of the LSCC in terms of customer service and KPIs (15 Minute Response, 4 Hour Resolution and 96 hours closure).

• Proactivity – Must be proactive in maintaining a safe, incident and injury free work environment and champion quality improvement activities.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have operated in a high precision machining environment for an extensive period or have relevant experience of Production Systems and will be able to transfer those skills into the LSCC team here in Boeing Sheffield.
