BR&T is seeking Manufacturing Assemblers that will be responsible for multiple production and test assembly lines that support Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense Space and Security, located in Smithfield, Pennsylvania. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Entry and Mid-Level Assemblers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs simple production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, and sub-assemblies, equipment and accessories using manual operations.

  • Verify kitted parts against installation plans and bill of materials for accuracy and suitability.

  • Select and use appropriate drill bits.

  • Apply sealants, primers, and adhesives compounds as required by working instruction.

  • Install fasteners in the correct sequence using appropriate tools, adhering to specifications.

  • Inspect completed work for defects, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and report any job handicaps.

  • Move kits, carts, and equipment within the work cell to facilitate workflow and maintain personal and tool certifications.

  • Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by participating in the design, fabrication and testing of new concepts and technology.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights up to 35 lbs.

  • Adapt to varying and high noise and vibrations

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years experience in manufacturing, automotive, construction, aerospace or similar industry and/or military experience

  • 1+ years experience following oral and written instructions in the form of blueprints, drawings, work instructions

  • 1+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to recognize colors

  • Ability to wear hearing protection (ear inserts, canal caps, earmuffs) and eye protection

  • Ability to use hazardous chemicals (sealants, paint and primers)

  • High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience installing aerospace components, construction or automotive assemblies with precision measurement tools, hand and power tools

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or License or Military Technical School equivalent

  • Experience with shop processes to include Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) prevention, material handling, safety, calibration requirements and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)

  • Experience differentiating production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission and motivation to combine the team’s energy and expertise to achieve a common objective

  • Understands the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range Entry-Level (level A): $38,250 – $51,750

Summary pay range Mid-Level (level B): $46,750 – $63,250
