The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking a highly skilled & motivated Senior Quality Manager to join our team leading AvionX Quality across all programs, sites and functions supporting all Boeing business units (BDS, BCA & BGS).  The position is based at our new production facility in Smithfield, PA.

Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. We have set our sights high – to design, develop, and manufacture the most technically advanced and reliable avionic components in the world. We are innovating and developing new products that address the future of the urban air mobility as well as our next generation of commercial, tactical, and trainer aircraft markets, and other strategic growth areas.

Candidates must be willing to travel approximately 25%.

Who You Are

You are an experienced Quality professional with a strong background in the development, qualification, production and service of new highly complex electronic systems.  You are a strong leader, able to work cross functionally and achieve unsurpassed quality outcomes.  You have demonstrated leadership and outstanding results in all aspects of Quality Engineering and in the areas of Quality Management Systems, Compliance, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Root Cause & Corrective Action and Lean.   You are a strong leader, manager, collaborator & coach able to lead individuals and teams to proudly surpass priorities time and again.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage AvionX Quality Team Members in Smithfield, PA and at other locations domestic and international

  • Lead the AvionX Quality Management System

  • Set Quality objectives, develop execution plans and lead teams to surpass objectives

  • Work cross functionally to drive Quality throughout the AvionX organization

  • Maintain Quality Compliance and Certification of Production Sites and Personnel

  • Lead Proactive Quality, Root Cause & Corrective Actions & Lean Throughout AvionX

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and analyze data to pinpoint areas for improvement 

  • Manage employees performing quality engineering in support of programs through all phases of the product lifecycle

  • Motivate team members and first-level managers to achieve quality objectives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), physics, quality, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering

  • Experience developing, leading and implementing Quality Management Systems

  • Experience in APQP, Lean, & RCCA

  • Experience in leadership

  • Experience leading teams to achieve objectives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Masters of Engineering, Data Science or Business Administration

  • Experience in all aspects of Quality (Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance & Compliance, Quality Control, Total Quality Management)

  • New Product & Process Development experience

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Program Management experience

  • Design & Process Engineering experience

Summary pay range: $136,000 - $184,000
