The Artemis program is seeking a highly experienced Avionics Lead to provide shipside support at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida. Candidate will directly report to chief engineer's office and will be responsible for working closely with Boeing and NASA personnel to ensure first time quality in the execution of avionics related work orders and work instructions. Candidate will coordinate solutions across avionics engineering experts located at Huntsville, AL, Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF), LA, and KSC, FL, operations. Experience with sensor systems is preferred due to a number of sensor operations that occur at KSC. Experience across multiple avionics components, with integration and test of avionics subsystems, and/or with space launch systems is highly desirable. Position requires candidate to be onsite to support daily operations. Candidate may be required to support shift operations to align to scheduled avionics operations on the vehicle

Position Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be primary Avionics Lead for installation of avionics components, stacking and integration of the vehicle, functional test operations, and launch readiness / console operations.

  • Candidate will be responsible for the rapid resolution of all Avionics related Nonconformance Records (NCRs)

  • Candidate will be required to support and mentor production engineers and technicians in a production / assembly environment.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • Typically, 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Significant experience working with Avionics components and integration

  • Experience working in a production environment

  • Experience working with NASA or on a U.S. Space Program

  • Experience working with customers and program leadership on a daily basis

  • Available to support occasional 2nd shift operations

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range, level 5: $ 143,650  - $ 194,350
