Boeing Defense, Space & Security's X-37B program at the Kennedy Space Center is seeking a Quality Production Specialist to support inspection of X-37B hardware, documentation of non-conformances, area audits/surveillances, and receiving inspection. This position is located in Kennedy Space Center, Florida.


This quality production specialist role will be part of a larger team of Quality Specialist and Quality Engineers who serve as the primary point of contact for operations to provide review, acceptance, and ensure product and area integrity.

Position Responsibilities:

Level 2:

  • Assists with oversight/inspection of operations to verify and ensure product integrity
  • Assists with review and validation of product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements
  • Supports analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes
  • Participates in the investigation to determine root cause of nonconformance of plans
  • Ability to apply basic knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems
  • Gathers data and provides recommendations/solutions to nonconformance of plans, products or processes
  • Assists with the development, modification and documentation of actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action
  • Assists in obtaining corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes and submits for review
  • Supports concurrence and obtains commitments to support program resolution
  • Participates and observes the validation associated with corrective action to assure nonconformance has been eliminated
  • Verifies internal replication systems adhere to Company and regulatory standards and procedures
  • Creates airplane specific airborne software packages
  • Perform audits and surveillances of areas to ensure proper compliance to requirements
  • Assists in the creation of reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal distribution
  • Works under general supervision.

Level 3

  • Provides oversight/inspection of operations to verify and ensure product integrity
  • Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations
  • Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems
  • Trains and mentors fellow employees in the Quality Management System
  • Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence
  • Independently develops, modifies and documents actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and documents resolution
  • Obtains corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes
  • Negotiates concurrence, obtains commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritizes quality activities and ensures problem resolution
  • Reviews and validates the corrective action plans and identifies effectivity to ensure completion
  • Reviews and approves Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes
  • Guides validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies to deliver the software products
  • Develops software system processes to support changing industry standards
  • Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements
  • Perform audits and surveillances of areas to ensure proper compliance to requirements
  • Interprets industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation
  • Creates analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution
  • Works under general direction

NASA Access: 

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
  • 1+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications?
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • 1+ years of experience in inspection

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with MESci, TIPQA, and ECC
  • Experience with TeamCenter
  • Knowledge of the Boeing Quality Management System and Production System

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Shift:

This role starts on first shift but will be primarily second shift starting in late 2027. There may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. Candidates must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.

Summary pay range:

Associate, Level 2: $71,400 - $96,600

Experienced, Level 3: $89,250 - $120,750
