The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Deeper Maintenance Support Manager to join the AH-64 Apache sustainment and support team in July 2026.

Program overview
The AH-64 Apache program provides advanced attack helicopter capability to the Australian Defence Force, enabling precision strike, armed reconnaissance and close air support. This program sustains a critical combat capability, supports interoperability with coalition partners, and underpins Australia's land and joint operations.

What you'll get to do

  • Be an integral part of the Apache capability.
  • Ensure the methods of operation and maintenance practices employed within the maintenance element comply with all published procedures and orders.
  • Performs management functions in either a maintenance management or maintenance control role in the context of logistics support and services environment.
  • Responsible for planning and controlling maintenance activities in support of phase maintenance, modification and off-aircraft maintenance requirements.
  • Manages employees performing organizational or intermediate technical or specialist maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring that the BDA maintenance workforce meets requirements to work in a CoA 145 maintenance organisation in a manner that is compliant with DASR regulations and the CoA exposition. 
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel are authorised to perform aircraft maintenance activities in their trade record.
  • Maintaining and proactively progressing governance actions, managing risk assessment requirements by ensuring that all risk assessments are conducted prior to the use of new equipment in maintenance facility, coordinate Risk Assessment (RA) review process, raising and developing new RA's as required.
  • Be prepared to be deputised as a Form 4 holder, Responsible Manager, for the Apache maintenance organisation if required.

Who we're looking for

  • A minimum of ten years of military or commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Hold Tertiary qualifications in either Mechanical or Avionics Engineering and/or Certificate IV in Aero Skills (Mechanical/Avionics) or equivalent experience.
  • Safety and Lead Auditor Qualified (Desirable).
  • Aviation Safety Officer Qualified (Desirable).
    Relevant Apache Type Training (Maintenance Manager Course) - (CoA Provided).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products.
  • A strong background and an in-depth knowledge of maintenance requirements.
  • The ability to continually improve the team's performance and work processes through feedback, problem solving and idea generation.
  • Meet Defence security and ITAR requirements.
  • Working at Heights qualification.

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
