The P-8 Mission Systems IPT (Integrated Product Team) is looking for an Associate and Mid-Level Electronic System Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Sensors Systems team in Tukwila, WA.

This entails exciting opportunities to work on sensor subsystems, including new development and upgrades that would be integrated onto the P-8 aircraft.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, help grow and mentor the next generation of engineers, and guide the candidate’s career towards the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the Technical Fellowship.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Develop and validate requirements for various complex sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components with regard to the Electronic Warfare (EW) systems
  • Develop and validate EW requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures
  • Develop EW architectures to integrate complex subsystems and components into higher level systems and platforms
  • Perform complicated EW trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements
  • Define and conduct critical tests of various kinds to validate performance of EW designs to requirements
  • Lead the troubleshooting effort to provide timely resolution as issues and flight squawks arise for sensor subsystems during Functional Check-Out in the factory and during Production Acceptance Testing out on the flight line
  • Manage appropriate aspects of critical EW supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Provide support to EW products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
  • Support project management by coordinating the development of work statements, budget, schedule, and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews
  • Generate major sections of proposals to support the development of new business

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2 or more years of experience with design, integration, and test of electrical systems 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experienced Technical Designer with a demonstrated history of working in the aviation and aerospace industry 
  • Experience with RF measurements including intermodulation distortion, phase noise, and spurious measurement test techniques, and familiarity with S-parameters
  • Experience with electronics laboratory instrumentation such as multiscope, Time Domain Reflectometer, Signal Analyzer, Network Analyzer, oscilloscope, MIL-STD-1553B test tools, Agilent Fieldfox Multifunction RF Test Set, fiber optics, and Ethernet
  • Experience with product configuration management 
  • Experience with high frequency RF, Digital, power and analog test systems 
  • Experience managing/leading engineering projects
  • Experience effectively communicating and collaborating with multi-discipline teams
  • Physical ability to lift test/cable equipment up to 35 lbs, up and down stairs
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours or working overtime in order to meet production assembly schedule (1st/2nd shift) or integration lab schedule when supporting and directing troubleshooting on emergent Non-Conformance Records (NCR’s)
  • Experience with basic UNIX/LINUX Command Line/Terminal commands
  • Comfortable with leading a team of Factory/Flightline/Lab Technicians in directing Fault Isolation and Troubleshooting of Electrical wire assembly and Military Electronic Line Replaceable Units
  • Experience with reading and interpreting Wiring Diagrams, to locate connectors and wire bundles on aircraft
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and MESci (Manufacturing Execution System Common Image)

Summary Pay Range:

Associate: $85,850 – 116,150

Mid-Level:  $104,550 – 141,450
