Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity and immediate need on the E-7A Program for a Senior ElectronicSystems Design Engineer to join our E-7A Systems Engineering team based in Tukwila, WA.  Due to expanding business, we are looking for engineers with a multi-discipline skill set who can solve problems and lead solutions across multiple engineering disciplines.

The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable, and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world.  The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously.  It can provide situational awareness and direct other assets such as fighter jets and warships.  This position will work across multiple E-7A programs supporting development of new capabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop, and verify highly complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Analyze the stakeholder needs and expectations to establish the requirements for a system or system element with traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct reviews for validation to ensure requirements meet stakeholder needs and ensure requirements are verifiable.
  • Identify, define, and control interactions across system boundaries in support of achieving a system capability that includes interactions such as human, mechanical, electrical, thermal, data, etc.
  • Create and implement strategic approaches for program and business area decisions with insight into development of long-term mission and architecture solutions.
  • Define a system architecture through system structure, interfaces, and associated derived requirements of the system or system element that balances all stakeholder requirements.
  • Create a physical, functional, or logical representation of a system or system element and use system models for rigorous development of data and information to aid technical understanding and decision‐making across the lifecycle.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 10+ years of experience with engineering of large-scale systems and overall systems engineering disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Demonstrated leadership of complex projects with large project teams.
  • Clear and confident communicator to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • 15+ years of experience working with engineering of large-scale systems and overall systems engineering disciplines involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, and verification.
  • Experience as a Chief Engineer or Lead Engineer responsible for ensuring system and product integration across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with Model Based Engineering tools and languages such as Enterprise Architecture, Cameo/MSOSA, UML/SysML, 3DX, CATIA.
  • Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers.
  • Experience with the Enterprise Standard Gated Process (EGSP).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.  Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $176,800 - $239,200
