Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager to join the United States Air Force (USAF) E-7 team.  The USAF E-7 Mission Systems team is looking for an energetic leader prepared to establish and leverage performance metrics to efficiently prioritize and execute to deliver critical capability to the USAF.  This opportunity will provide an exciting and engaging opportunity to lead a talented team as well as future growth as the E-7 platform continues to expand, with recently awarded additional aircraft.  This position will report to the team located in Tukwila, WA, where program execution, labs and flight testing will be based.

The position will include leadership of our Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Communication and Navigation subsystems.  The responsibilities will include total program execution of these subsystems while building upon the positive relationships currently in place with internal and external stakeholders.

Although direct experience within the subsystems identified is desired, experience within Mission Systems performing or successfully managing the lifecycle of Mission Systems equipment will be an enabler for success in the role.  From supplier contract award, through successful qualification, procurement and integration of hardware, functional checkout in production, through final certification in flight test.

Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the subsystem team execution, first time quality of the Mission Systems products through the development, flight test and delivery phase of the prototype aircraft.
  • Leadership of the team to perform within cost and schedule of the contracted effort through ensuring Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance and favorable cost/schedule performance
  • Execution of the established integrated program plans, providing input on evolving program business and technical strategies, goals and objectives
  • Participation in the development of proposals for follow-on efforts
  • Integration of team execution within Mission Systems and across the program
  • Determine and maintain the appropriate resources through partnering with functional leadership
  • Leverage Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) to continuously improve execution efficiency
  • Lead, develop and motivate employees and managers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with project management and the ability to self-manage projects
  • 5+ years of experience working in an engineering discipline within Mission Systems
  • Demonstrated experience as a Program Manager leading a program
  • Strong business acumen and relationship skills needed to build partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel: Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required based on business needs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for $180,200 - $243,800
