Position Overview:

Boeing India Defense team is currently looking for Experienced Product Review Engineer-C-17 to join their team in Hindan, India.

Candidate should have work experience in military cargo maintenance, passion for engineering and technology related work, ability to network with international engineering team, readiness to strive and develop into reliable engineering professional on C-17 aircraft systems.

This is an individual contributor position in a growing organization. The individual will join the existing C-17 Field Services team deployed at Indian Air Force establishment, to provide engineering support to C-17 (Globemaster III) fleet of Indian Air Force.

The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced military aviation environment. He or she must be flexible to accommodate business requirements that span multiple time zones and may require travel, having international experience working with diverse groups and cultures will be an added advantage. The ability to multitask & deliver within timelines is essential. Practical knowledge of Military Cargo Aircraft Maintenance, Theoretical concepts of Aeronautical Engineering, Modern, state of the Art Avionics System, Aircraft structure and Mechanical Systems, Aircraft Mission System, Military Airworthiness Requirements, Basic Information Security Management, demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary team, ability to work on computer system without assistance, may also be required in this position. The candidate also will have strong communications skills. He or she must be able to maintain positive relationships with leadership and all levels of the organization, including engineering interface at other international locations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Use broad knowledge of Boeing C-17 design and engineering principles.

  • Provide assessment and resolution of issues through the product lifecycle.

  • Apply engineering principles and experience to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.

  • Develop and release interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness.

  • Use innovative approaches and unique applications to solve complex nonconforming conditions.

  • Identify, document, and analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety.

  • Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.

  • Coordinate activities for on-site disabled aircraft repair/recovery teams, safety or accident investigation boards, and aircraft maintenance recovery teams.

  • Conduct static strength analysis with the development of repairs. Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal and external customers. Develop and implement product/process improvements.

  • Ability to work for extended periods in a wide variety of cultural/economic environments.

  • Must be willing to work any shift (this is a day shift-based position but based on the work, this may change)

  • Must be able to function in a demanding on-call (rotational basis), around-the-clock environment

  • Troubleshooting and repairing aircraft mechanical, structural and avionics systems

  • Ability to deploy to assist with aircraft recoveries and other sustainment activities

  • Analyzing aircraft data from various onboard recording systems

  • Ability to interpret the wiring diagram of aircraft electrical/electronic system and provide solutions to intricate problems.

  • Ability to work with other international teams and provide/seek assistance for aircraft related problems

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION from an accredited college/University or Equivalent in the field of Avionics/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Communication /Computer Science/ Mechanical/ Aerospace

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the maintenance of Large/Medium Military Transport Aircraft.

  •  Mandatorily provide supporting Certification from Indian Armed Forces institutes, other equivalent institutes, supporting Basic Aircraft Maintenance, qualification on Specific Type of Aircraft, Engine Run clearances, Aircraft Ground Handling , etc , along with experience certificates.   

  • Adaptability & Building Positive Relationships

  • Strong and Effective Communication

  • Customer Focus & Analytical Skills

  • Ability to work without assistance with computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience on O and I level Maintenance of C-17 aircraft and associated Support Equipment and specialist vehicle maintenance.

  • Conversant with advance diagnostics methods, NDI ( Non-Destructive Inspection), aircraft maintenance management software applications, etc.

  • Proven capability to prepare repair schemes for structural systems discrepancies.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience on maintenance of Large/Medium Military Transport Aircraft or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 8 years' related work experience.)

This position does offer relocation within INDIA.
