This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. 

Location: Wichita, KS

Key Accountabilities:

  • Validate that product realization processes are capable of producing parts and assemblies that meet engineering and design requirements.
  • Provide objective evidence the manufacturers processes can produce compliant product (e.g. assemblies, sub-assemblies, and detail parts including castings, forgings and modifications to standard catalogue or Commercial-Off-the-shelf items) and that they have understood and incorporated associated requirements.
  • FAI planning consists of using both Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to capture the Engineering characteristics and documenting them on the approved AS9102 documents. 
  • This standard applies to Spirit for producing the design characteristics of the product (i.e., product realization).
  • Planners may interrupt Bills of Material, Routings, 2D Drawings or Catia Models.

Required Qualifications:

  • SAP Navigation and knowledge
  • Blueprint and Specification interpretation
  • 2+ years’ experience in aircraft manufacturing
  • HS Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good to excellent computing skills
  • Planning or Quality Experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, act decisively, and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness
  • Net Inspect and Inspection Xpert software experience preferred
  • Fluent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to apply knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures

Union:

This is a union-represented position.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $59,050 - $90,550

Kansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years. Click here for more information on the tax credit.
