This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Location: Wichita, KS

Position Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and correct electrical, electronic and fiber optic malfunctions on such systems which include but are not limited to; thermal process equipment, networked computer systems, computer, numerical and/or electronic controlled machines and associated PLCs, part marking machines, welders, master paging systems, phone systems, master time clock systems, FCC radios, data and video communication systems, associated lighting controls, power conditioning and backup systems that are in support of server rooms.
  • Perform initial checkout of company assets that have been installed, repaired, relocated or rebuilt to ensure proper functioning of the control systems.
  • Selected candidates will be scheduled for an aptitude test. Successful completion of the test will qualify the applicant to be scheduled for an in-person interview. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift.
  • All candidates must pass the Work Keys Assessment (www.workkeys.com) or provide a verification that they have passed the Work Keys Assessment. Delay in completing your Work Keys Assessment will result in a delay in your start date. You may complete your assessment in advance of an interview.

Successful candidate will enter a four (4) yearelectrical apprenticeshipprogram with theBoeingCompany. This program will include bothon the job training atBoeing Wichitaas well as full participation in a formal schooling program ofBoeing’schoice. Upon successful completion of theapprenticeshipprogram the candidate willqualify to be a W01 Maintenance Electrician.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Pay:  $25.24/hour, with potential to earn up to $40.38/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
