Position Overview:

The Boeing Company is constructing a new laboratory and support facilities at a to be determined location in the Continental US (CONUS). This complex will be used to develop and test advanced concepts. The desired facility timeline is 2028. The laboratory will consist of multi-use experiment labs, control rooms, software and hardware integration labs, calibration and test labs, and electronics build, integration and test work areas.The support facilities will include office space, warehouse storage, maintenance and machine shops, laydown yard, mechanical and utility buildings.

We are seeking a Facility Project Engineer to join the team in Albuquerque, NM tasked with developing requirements for this facility, beginning statement of work for design/build contract, selecting qualified sources, reviewing proposals and assisting supplier management with contract evaluation leading to award.The ideal candidate will have a background in civil/architecture/construction engineering, project management.

This position will require travel to the final construction site at a yet to be determined location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops project requirements, integrated plans, and detailed work breakdown structure to achieve objectives within established scope, budget, and schedule.

  • Oversees or leads all aspects of critical or complex facility projects from pre-construction planning through project execution to project closeout.

  • Monitors and communicates project status, current baselines, changes, risks/ issues/ opportunities, and help needed.

  • Performs variance analysis, critical path scheduling, cash flow projections, cost tracking, and makes recommendations for change.

  • Oversees or leads ongoing construction tasks and serves as a liaison between internal stakeholders, general contractors, subcontractors, and external suppliers.

  • Oversees or leads project management and change management activities in accordance with industry principles and standards.

  • Leads closeout of projects and documents lessons learned. Leads or participates in enterprise initiatives, creation of standards, mentoring, training, and non-advocate reviews.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Strongpreference would be a degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in project management

  • 5+ years of experience developing requirements for complex facilities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity with civil and governments facilities requirements

  • Prior experience and knowledge of building information modeling

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Lead (level 5):  $143,650 – 194,350

Principal (level 6):  $170,000 – $230,000
