Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for a Helper Manufacturing A to join our Fabrication team in Auburn, Washington.Join our dedicated manufacturing team as a Helper, where your support will be essential in driving the production process forward. In this dynamic role, you will assist your colleagues by utilizing production illustrations, specifications, and blueprints to accurately mark parts and prepare them for anodizing, etching, and painting applications. Your attention to detail will be crucial as you employ precision measuring instruments and computing software to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards. Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform various duties to assist other employees or work independently as assigned. 

  • Use production illustrations, specifications, and blueprints to derive measurements and related information for part marking. 

  • Transfer layout locations of temporary protective materials, such as masking tape, to prepare parts for anodizing, etching, and paint applications. 

  • Utilize various computing software necessary to complete work assignments effectively. 

  • Employ precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, to ensure accuracy in measurements. 

  • Obtain and maintain required certifications and qualifications to perform assigned tasks. 

  • Apply shop arithmetic, including decimals and fractions, to perform calculations related to work assignments. 

  • Prepare surfaces to ensure proper adhesion for subsequent processes. 

  • Follow quality requirements and specifications throughout all tasks to maintain high standards. 

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines. 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency. 

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers regarding project status and any issues that arise. 

  • Document work processes and results as required for quality assurance and compliance. 

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any discrepancies in measurements or layouts. 

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to the role. 

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs. 

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. 

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants. 

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards. 

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions. 

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.  

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience using basic math (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)

  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)

  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8-hour shift

  • Must have basic computer experience and competency skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Willing and able to work overtime if needed

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred. 

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.    

Summary pay range: $23.00 - $47.22
