The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced or Senior Quality Engineer to join the Total Quality Fighters Team located in Berkeley, MO!

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for representing the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. The Quality Engineer will provides Quality interpretation of requirements, develop quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports development activities and leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements related to Mission Systems and Avionics
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements and assists design engineers with technical reviews including configuration change proposals, preliminary / critical design reviews, and Qualification testing
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities and Supplier Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs)
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Leads and participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Initiate and implements corrective actions based on nonconformance trend analysis
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Works under minimal direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • 3+ years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • 3+ years of experience working with and supporting Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications (CQA);(CQE); (CQT)
  • Experience in an avionics, electrical, and/or systems engineering role

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Level 3: $88,400 – $119,600

Level 4: $108,800 – $147,200
