Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is hiring for a Flight Operations Manager (Level K) to support the Flightline Operations team located in Berkeley, MO.

The Manufacturing & Safety team on the flight ramp ensures that our air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, release for flight, and preparation for delivery.
  • Interfaces with flight crews, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Create daily work plans to complete Ramp Operations statement of work Safely and Defect/Foreign Object Debris (FOD) free
  • Schedule Company and Customer flights
  • Coordinate quarterly delivery plans that include shared resources (Fuel Barn, Hush House, Paint, etc.)
  • Managing numerous aircraft
  • Managing total compliance (FOD/Tool Control, Check In/Check Out sheets, Green Sheets, etc.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • High School diploma. 
  • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Operations/Flight Operations environment.  
  • 1+ years of experience implementing lean methodologies and productivity improvements.
  • 1+ years of experience interfacing with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint. 
  • Ability to work any shift based on the needs of the operation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and operations
  • Ability to build safety awareness
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement implementation
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment (compliance)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $106,250 – 143,750 USD

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Visa Sponsorship
