Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has exciting opportunities for a Physical Security Specialist (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) to join our teams located in Berkeley, MO and Mesa, AZ.

These positions will require a Physical Security expert with a strong background in supporting construction projects for classified programs. The role requires developing ICD-705 compliant documents, including Fixed Facility Checklists (FFC), Construction Security Plans (CSP), and DCSA Forms 147, to support both Intelligence and DoD community customer bases.

The successful candidate will be responsible for SCIF and SAPF construction and accreditation. This will involve creating plans for performing technical inspections and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and respond to Requests for Information.

In addition, the candidate will conduct routine secure area construction project inspections to ensure quality assurance and compliance, as well as conduct STC testing to guarantee rated perimeters meet customer requirements.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to obtain SCI access and undergo a polygraph exam.

This position may be located on either 1st or 2nd shift based on business needs. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop ICD-705 compliant documents, including FFC, CSP, and DCSA Forms 147
  • Conduct technical inspections and STC testing
  • Monitor, observe, and interact with the construction workers as they accomplish their various tasks to preclude the introduction of electronic, electrical, mechanical, or any other type of hostile surveillance monitoring devices into finished construction.
  • Screen all equipment, materials, and furnishings destined for use in the controlled construction area, using X-ray machines and any and all other methods of examination as outlined in the requirements and approved by the sponsor.
  • Operate proposed inspection equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of all construction disciplines, including civil architectural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principles.
  • Read and analyze designs and blueprints and recognize the architect’s intended use.
  • Analyze designs and structural complexities for ulterior purposes not intended by the architect.
  • Exercise knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive 705 (ICD 705) standards, Best Practice Guidelines for Architectural Radio Frequency Shielding (Tempest Guidelines), Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), construction principles, and the types of devices used by hostile and friendly intelligence services for the purpose of clandestine surveillance.
  • Write detailed reports in English and complete the analyses of issues, findings, and security situations that require staff action.
  • Maintain daily logs during tour of duty.
  • Other duties of similar scope and nature as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently with oversight

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 1 year of experience with ICD 705
  • Experience with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and CNSSAM TEMPEST/01-02 specifications
  • Experience working with or supporting SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) environments, including construction of SCIF rooms, buildings or labs
  • More than 3 years of experience do you have working with building codes and commercial construction, interpreting highly complex drawings, schematics and equipment manuals

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: More than 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: More than 10 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance
  • More than 3 years of experience working with or supporting SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) environments, including construction of SCIF rooms, buildings or labs
  • Previous Experience as Site Security Manager (SSM), Construction Security Technician (CST)
  • More than 5 years of experience in construction of secured area builds
  • Experience designing, building and accrediting SCIFs and/or SAPFs

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level (Level 2): USD 54,000 – 97,000

Summary pay range for mid-level (Level 3): USD 65,000 – 115,000

Summary pay range for senior level (Level 2): USD 80,000 – 143,000
