The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Pole Model Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team to complete the design, build, and test of a pole model in support Phantom Works portfolio program located on the St Louis site in Berkeley, MO.

As the Pole Model Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team to design and develop, then procure and build the pole model test article.  Additionally, this manager will work with the Survivability team to plan and execute the test of the pole model for a classified program within the Phantom Works portfolio. This is a phenomenal opportunity to lead and execute development excellence on an amazingly difficult and critically important new development program.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in Mechanical & Structural Engineering, as well as Special Technology integration.

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers.

Travel to suppliers and test facilities will be required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in St Louis, MO. 

US Citizen, no dual citizenship, able to obtain customer approval to work a Special Access Program

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering or physics.

  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry

  • 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams

  • 3+ years of experience managing schedules, budgets and technical content for complex projects

  • Currently a manager or previously held a manager position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or Electro-Physics

  • 5+ years of experience in Special Technologies integration and test

  • Experience using Boeing Non-Recurring Product Development (NRPD) or equivalent Boeing Development Processes

  • Experience utilizing radar cross section analysis and prediction

  • Experience utilizing Model Based Engineering

  • Experience with low observable composite design, build, and test. 

  • Basic understanding of the guiding principles for Radar Cross Section contributors and methods of control.

  • Experience working within a special access security environment

Summary pay range: $155,550- $210,450
