Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer and Program Manager to join our Fabrication Quality team in Berkeley, MO!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive leader to join our Tooling & Emergent Operations quality team, supporting the St. Louis Tooling Fabrication and Emergent Metals Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for upholding the highest quality standards and will lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, Quality Specialists, and Quality Assurance professionals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead employees engaged in quality engineering, quality inspection, and technical activities throughout all phases of the product lifecycle

  • Formulate quality strategies and plans to support new business acquisition and the execution of program/business objectives

  • Provide education and coaching on the Quality Management System

  • Acquire and manage resources, deliver quality technical management, and drive performance improvements

  • Enhance the quality skills of team members and their application to ensure a robust Quality Operating System and promote personnel development

  • Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers, and direct reports

  • Supervise the review of technical information to ensure quality and manufacturability

  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or a related discipline)

  • Proven experience in process improvement

  • Proficient in statistics and data analysis, with the ability to present findings effectively

  • Over 1 year of experience in leading or managing cross-functional quality or continuous improvement initiatives

  • More than 1 year of experience with precision measurement equipment

  • At least 3 years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing processes and organizations

  • Over 3 years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • More than 3 years of experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Demonstrated experience in quality leadership

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100)

  • Ability to grasp the overall picture and understand the interrelationships among all positions and activities within the system, including how changes in one area can affect others

  • Experience in data analytics

  • Knowledge of quality systems, including quality requirements, inspection processes, and Boeing quality procedures

  • Over 1 year of experience in surveillance, compliance, and process audits

  • More than 3 years of experience in quality engineering

Summary pay range: $110,500– $149,500
