Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Estimating Team Lead to join our team in Berkeley, Missouri. As a Senior Estimating Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the team in the development of estimates (labor, material, travel, etc.) and cost/price proposals for new business activities. This assignment will support multiple Phantom Works division teams and a variety of internal and external customers.

Phantom Works is Boeing Defense, Space and Security’s (BDS) sophisticated research and development organization that is responsible for engaging customers through groundbreaking visual modeling and simulation; innovating cross-cutting concepts and technologies; prototyping solutions to extend current products and win new programs; and developing new businesses and entering new markets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development of complex estimates and prices from complex technical requirements through the design, build and support stages of the program

  • Leads development and application of complex estimating and pricing strategies using innovative computational techniques

  • Guides business proposals, evaluates and makes recommendations based on complex or unique requests for proposal and substantiates estimates and pricing

  • Leads and performs complex analyses and provides recommendations in support of pricing and estimating (risk, financial, competitive, etc.)

  • Coordinate and collaborate with proposal teams and cost element functional owners to develop appropriate basis of estimate and substantiation of cost estimates, proposals and other related business decision data

  • Provide fact-finding, negotiation and audit support of cost proposal artifacts and coordinate responses through proposal teams, as required

  • Support, prepare and brief senior leader-level presentations, as required

  • Identify, assess and implement changes to processes, tools and techniques to simplify estimating and pricing methodologies and improve cost estimating accuracy

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree in at least one of the following fields: Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics

  • 2+ years of experience in a business-related role

  • 3+ years of experience with the Microsoft Excel application using: formulas, VLookups, pivot tables, charts, filters, and linking worksheets

  • Experience in proposal process management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in a business-related role

  • Knowledge of United States Government Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

  • Experience using data analysis to drive decision making

  • Experience with critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience working in multifaceted and diverse teams across multiple functions

  • Experience leading projects with little direct supervision and drive project to completion

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines with competing priorities

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $106,250 - $143,750
