The Global Enterprise Sustainability (GES) organization was formed to support Boeing’s mission to connect, protect and explore our world and beyond, safely and sustainably.  Our Global Sustainability Reporting & Governance team has an outstanding opportunity for a strategic problem solver with a passion for sustainability who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and dynamic environment. We are seeking a Senior or Principal Sustainability Analyst who will advance our reporting, risk and disclosure practices and governance processes to meet accelerating stakeholder expectations. 

This position can be located in: Berkeley, MO; Arlington, VA; Chicago, IL; Mesa, AZ; Renton, WA; or Tukwila, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and integrate global compliance obligations (e.g. CA’s SB261, ISSB, CSRD, ASRS, etc..) to deliver consistent global reporting for Boeing’s stakeholders 
  • Develop and enhance data governance and internal controls practices, document processes and develop project plans to meet regulatory and assurance requirements
  • Support teammate and organization growth through mentorship, sharing your expertise and knowledge/skill building
  • Support Boeing's sustainability voluntary reporting activities including the annual enterprise Sustainability report, the sustainability portion of our company’s Proxy Statement and ensuring alignment with emerging requirements
  • Track emerging policy, framework and regulatory changes related to Sustainability and collaborating with internal partners to prepare and respond, as needs arise 
  • Collaborate externally and internally with cross-industry and enterprise peers to benchmark and share best practices and standard methodologies
  • Engage with external sustainability standards organizations and third parties, as needed, to develop relationships and a detailed understanding the frameworks to identify gaps and priorities in our sustainability data and messaging

Critical skills for success in the role include:

  • Direct experience in Sustainability/ESG and/or data-rich, regulatory reporting; familiarity with Sustainability reporting frameworks and/or rating agencies 
  • Audit experience; Data management/governance; experience with reporting data platforms (e.g. Workiva, Enablon, etc.) preferred
  • Excellent communication skills – written, interpersonal and presentation
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, strategic decision making 
  • Strategy development and implementation 
  • Program/project management
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including ability to establish relationships and build trust with key stakeholders including customers, peers, business and functional partners, and team members
  • Ability to work with employees across all levels including Senior Leadership/C-Suite members
  • Highly proficient in presentation development/PowerPoint and data analysis/Excel

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. Currently 3 days in office a week.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in audit, financial reporting, legal, sustainability, ESG/sustainability reporting, corporate social responsibility and/or operations/environment/efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, business management, policy development or related field
  • Experience in leading sustainability programs, teams, or sustainability strategies for organizations with global business reach
  • Direct experience assessing regulatory policy, developing advocacy strategies and compliance pathways
  • Direct experience developing and leading corporate sustainability reporting for a global/multi-national company 
  • Direct experience with and deep knowledge of regulatory, standards and frameworks related to sustainability reporting and operations (e.g. global climate disclosure regulations, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Greenhouse Gas Protocol, etc.) 
  • Advanced degree (Master’s degree or above) in related field

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Senior (level 4): $122,400 - $165,600

Summary pay range Principal (Level 5): $158,950 - $215,050
