We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EHS Hygiene Specialist to join our BDA Systems and Assurance team based in Brisbane and help us maintain our high standards of workplace safety.

Job Summary: As an Occupational Hygienist, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards that may affect the health and safety of our employees. You will need to monitor and maintain the current occupational hygiene plan and be able to travel to various sites as required to conduct monitoring activities. You will work closely with various departments to implement effective safety programs and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive workplace hygiene risk assessments to identify potential health hazards.
  • Develop and implement and maintain monitoring programs to assess exposure to hazardous substances.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports on findings, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with EHS teams to develop and implement safety training programs.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and best practices in occupational hygiene.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety issues as a subject matter expert.
  • Developing and supporting document management, technical writing for EHS documents, and managing the BDA system documents
  • Supporting internal customers on Environmental and Health & Safety processes, issues and regulatory compliance.
  • Performing inspection and audits, investigating incidents and providing advice regarding corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.
  • Helping to establish a culture that is aligned with EHS objectives, with continuous EHS improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Energy, passion, problem solving ability with can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • SharePoint experience is desirable but not essential

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements. An NV1 Security Clearance will be required.
