Boeing Defence Australia is delivering some of the nation's most important programs for Australian Defence. As part of the Battlespace Communications System (BCS) Team, you will build, lead and support teams that design and produce next generation Military Communications Systems and contribute to the continued evolution of those capabilities to the Australian Defence Forces. Join us to make your mark, working with a team that is united in pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence.

The Opportunity

The BCS (Battlefield Communications System) is a next generation networking solution that combines custom and off-the-shelf technology for superior C4 capabilities for ADF personnel. Its modular design ensures rapid deployment and customization for various missions, and is the centerpiece for multiple communications programs.

We're seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Program Manager with the planning, resourcing, coordination, scheduling, and change management activities for the BCS Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Program.

This role will form part of the BLOS Program leadership team and will play a vital role in ensuring that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. The Project Coordinator will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication, track project progress, and manage changes to the project scope.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a critical program that enhances communication capabilities for ADF personnel, making a meaningful impact on mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal and customer stakeholders in maintaining an integrated project plan.
  • Assist in the development and analysis of project metrics and performance variances.
  • Coordinate document work statements and resulting schedules.
  • Communicate project status, change information, and recovery plans to the project team.
  • Collaborate with the BCS program team to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Support a diverse and inclusive work environment, modeling Boeing's Seek, Speak, and Listen behaviors.

Experience/Qualifications

Essential:

  • Excellent communicator who can engage with a diverse team.
  • Proven ability to be proactive in identifying potential project risks and opportunities and developing effective strategies to address them.
  • Experience in project management principles and techniques, including risk management and project planning.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on maintaining project timelines and deliverables.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defense security requirements.

Desirable:

  • Experience on BCS projects and campaigns.
  • Knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts, and principles as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

This role offers flexibility in working arrangements (work from home vs. at the office), but the expectation is that the position is based in our Brisbane office and/or Wacol production facility, where the majority of the BCS Program team is located.

The role will require periodic travel to key Boeing and customer sites.

We invite a range of people to apply, including individuals from outside the defense industry.
