The opportunity

The Principal Integrated Product Support System Specialist is a member of the Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) Product Support Maintenance and Training Capability. In this role you will work within the Battlespace Communications Systems (BCS) Enterprise to lead the design, development and maintenance of support system solutions for Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) programs. In this role you will gain exposure to and be an active contributor to BDA's new business pursuits.

Responsibilities

The Principal Integrated Product Support System Specialist provides subject matter expertise to BCS Project Managers, Integrated Product Team Leads and Product Support team members for all aspects of the support system from acquisition through disposal. This role will provide expertise in support system design and optimisation opportunities and support BDA's demonstrated pedigree in designing, developing and evolving complex sovereign communications systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Direct the architectural design of the Support System for all BCS programs.
  • Facilitate the harmonisation of the Support System among all BCS customers, utilising the scale and commonality of BCS products to improve efficiencies.
  • Identify and implement Support System tools to optimise work performance while fulfilling customer requirements.
  • Work in partnership with the BCS Chief Engineer and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure Mission System Design is aligned with an effective support system.
  • Lead the development and structure of Support System specifications.
  • Engage with BCS campaigns to ensure proposals are consistent with BCS support system principles and deliver competitive responses.
  • Define BCS Enterprise support requirements, including costs, technical objectives, definitions, statement of work breakdowns, reports, master schedules, program implementation, and integration plans.
  • Oversee the implementation of effective BCS product support strategies that address all 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements to meet customer material and system readiness objectives while reducing costs.
  • Review BCS Enterprise program and engineering change proposals, assessing all product support impacts.
  • Mentor and train BCS Enterprise Integrated Product Support team members, ensuring quality checks and process improvements.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications

To be successful you will have:

  • Minimum of 10 years' demonstrated experience leading / managing in complex Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) or support system environments
  • Experience working with integrated/multi-skilled teams to respond to tenders / writing proposals for Defence programs- Highly desirable.
  • Formal qualifications or significant demonstrated experience in leading and delivering successful logistics/support systems analysis for major acquisition programs - ASDEFCON Strategic Material Acquisition (Support System).
  • Experience working with Integrated Logistics Support standards; for example, MIL-STD-1388, DEF (AUST) 5691/5692, and GEIA-STD-0007C Logistics Product Data is desirable.
  • Eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance
  • Current Australian Citizenship
