The Opportunity

This role will lead the Records and Information Management function within Boeing Defence Australia with a focus on delivering uplift in agency maturity.

The role will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the operational direction to ensure information assets are appropriately managed and secured in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead research and evaluation of Records and Information Management industry standards and best practice.
  • Lead the development of proposals for planning and execution of Records and Information Management Program policies, procedures, tools/systems, program structure and communication.
  • Leads the development and deployment of training, resolves issues, and answers information lifecycle management questions.
  • Lead continuous improvement and client support culture to enhance the attitudes and behaviours of staff to value a culture where information is treated as a valuable asset
  • Evaluate and conduct gap analyses and develop solutions to ensure compliance with Records and Information Management requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to records management.
  • Lead records and compliance audits, address audit findings and remediate issues.
  • Leads aspects of supplier oversight, including digitization of paper records and implementation of electronic document management systems. Provide performance metrics and invoice review for supplier oversight.
  • Collaborate with information technology and data teams to enhance information security and data protection measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, Business Administration or a related field would be highly regarded.
  • 10 years demonstrated experience in Records and Information Management, including record keeping principles and practices and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Internal auditing qualification required; lead auditor advantageous/desirable.
  • High level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to influence and inform technical and non-technical staff and manage relationships with senior internal and external customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Proven ability to manage and mitigate risks as well as promoting legislative and policy compliance.
