Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a talented Fuel Systems Engineer (Associate level 2 or Experienced level 3) to join our dynamic Propulsion Systems Engineering team in the Pacific Northwest, specifically in Everett, Renton, or Tukwila, WA. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and analyzing our propulsion systems, engaging in various aspects of development, integration, and qualification projects.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develops and verifies requirements for vehicle fuel and tank systems.

  • Develops specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Configures or designs propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.

  • Coordinates with suppliers and external partners to drive successful collaboration on Propulsion Fuels projects.

  • Defines and oversees certification tests for propulsion sub-systems and components.  Develops system and component test plans and procedures.  Coordinates with internal and external partners to successfully meet project goals and schedules.

  • Ensures Certification plans support regulatory requirements.  Performs analysis using test or certification data.  Creates System Safety Analyses and Airworthiness Limitations documents.

  • Supports fielded systems to assure continued reliability, safety and compliance.

  • Develops concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements.

  • Works under general direction.  Communicates project status, risks, issues and opportunities to Propulsion and Program leadership.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA or alternate locations in Puget Sound based on assigned program or responsibility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Experience in Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, and/or Mechanical Engineering disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of airplane fuels systems architecture and Airplane Safety is preferred.

  • Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex problems.

  • Strong project and time management skills.  Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects in support of key milestones and aircraft delivery schedules.

  • Excellent communication skills.  Ability to clearly communicate complex scenarios with internal and external Leaders and technical specialists.

  • Experience working multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Experience with certification is preferred, particularly familiarity with CFR 25.981 and/or 25.1309.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

  • Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400

  • Experienced (Level 3): $100,300 - $135,700
