Boeing Global Services is currently looking for an Experienced Interceptor Production Technician to join their team in Fort Greely, AK. This position will support the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) program. The GMD system is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.
  • Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.
  • Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.
  • Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
  • Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.
  • Oversees training.
  • Works under general direction.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start isrequired.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with assembling, repairing, and testing mechanical and electrical components and systems
  • Able and willing to travel up to 25% of the time domestically for offsite support and offsite training.
  • Able and willing to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, travel in silo basket (maximum load capacity of 275lbs).
  • Willing and Able to work in confined spaces
  • Lift loads approximately 35 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Previous experience working on the Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) system a plus
  • Experience working with ordnance/rocket motors is highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate a Forklift, truck mounted crane, and other associated equipment a plus
  • Valid commercial driver’s license a plus
  • Familiarity with any of the following processes: Tool Control, Hazmat Control, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection Programs, & ESD Controls.

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: 63,750 - 86,250
