The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager to support our DC&N Software Engineering located in Huntington Beach, CA, ElSegundo or Long Beach, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) business organization.

The candidate will lead program/organizational integration of multiple research and technology software-aligned products/initiatives (and manage diverse sub-teams of software engineers who support them), to ensure alignment to business & technical strategies, goals, and objectives for new & existing programs across our Disruptive Computing & Networks vertical, including:
•    Quantum Computing
•    Quantum Communications and Networks
•    SW and HW infrastructures
•    AI/ML applications

Position Responsibilities: 
•    Knowledge of policies and procedures that typically affect subordinate organizational units. Establishes policies and procedures. Interprets policies and procedures. Knowledge of skills and abilities required by managers or non-management employees to accomplish organizational responsibilities.
•    Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the organization. Typically develops budgets, schedules and performance standards. Decisions could impact critical delay(s) in schedule and/or organizational operations. Has impact on work processes and outcomes. Directs short term operations/tactical operations of the organization. 
•    Frequent contacts with managers and external representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements or contractual clarifications. Interacts frequently with internal and external management and senior-level representatives. 
•    Ability to accomplish results through managers or nonmanagement employees. Ability to modify the organization structure for their scope of responsibility. Often responsible for managing team(s) or work unit(s) of the company. Assignments are objective oriented. Ability to influence decision-making by internal and external management and senior level representatives.
•    Skilled in advising and influencing managers or nonmanagement employees to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Directly participates in establishing and administering multiple projects. Develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance standards. Manages large or complex teams of managers and or non-management employees (typically at the professional level).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

•    Active TS / SCI with the ability to obtain / sit for Poly post-start
•    5+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members 
•    5+ years of experience with embedded software development
•    5+ years of experience with DevSecOps
•    3+ years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks 
•    3+ years of experience with modern software development methodologies
•    3+ years of experience with software development in Agile methodology
•    Experience with Cross Cloud communication and architecture

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

•    Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
•    Experience with DevSecOps / Continuous Integration (CI) using GitLab the ecosystem
•    Experience at successfully managing within a complex IPT to produce results within budget, o schedule, and to performance requirements
•    Experience at successfully working with a community of diverse software product owners & systems engineering to integrate software into complex systems
•    Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) within an Agile construct
•    Experience with multiple SW architectures and paradigms, from embedded on-metal development, to microservices and cloud infrastructure (Containerization, Orchestration, IPCs, etc).
•    Experience implementing, developing, and standing up Software environments in classified and air-gapped systems.
•    Active TS/SCI or SCI/Poly a huge plus.

Travel:  less than 10%.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $165,750 - $224,250
