The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to join the team in Huntsville, AL

Step into the role of Senior Linux Administrator, where you will play a vital role in supporting multiple programs within the Boeing Information Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S) organization. In this dynamic position, you will leverage your expertise in Linux systems to ensure the reliability and performance of our infrastructure across various projects.

Your contributions will be essential in maintaining and optimizing our Linux environments, enabling our teams to deliver innovative solutions effectively. Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture

  • Provides complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and technical support for delivery systems

  • Participates in the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems

  • Plans and coordinates system changes

  • Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements

  • Oversees activities to monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning

  • Mentors, leads and trains others

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years

  • Active CompTIA Security+ DoD Approved 8570/8140 Baseline Certification

  • 5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Linux versions

  • 5+ years of experience with deploying, securing and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems (RHEL5/6/7/8)

  • 5+ years of experience with maintaining and configuring Active Directory (AD)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience

  • 3+ years of experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support

  • 3+ years of experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems

  • 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware

  • 3+ years of experience evaluating and effectively communicating system problems and resolution

  • 3+ years of experience integrating security solutions (e.g. Splunk) into information systems

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $108,800 – $147,200
