The Boeing Company seeks a Head of Training Manager for our operations in South Korea. This senior-level position will oversee the training programs and initiatives for Boeing's South Korea customer airlines, ensuring that all training activities align with the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The selected candidate must work onsite in South Korea.

This position will be hired initially on a 2-years fixed term contract with the opportunity to convert to an open-ended contract, subject to individual performance or business's needs. This is a common practice in Boeing Korea employment agreement.

Key Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Global Flight Training to foster a safety, customer, and quality-focused training environment.
  • Support the Korea Campus Manager in execution of all Commercial Training Solutions Flight Training delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate and integrate training initiatives with Boeing and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor agreements and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry and regulatory changes to ensure that training materials and programs are leading-edge.
  • Assist various departments, including Flight Operations, Learning Development, and BGS Commercial Training Services, as required.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals and direction for training programs to enhance customer experience and maintain a local leadership presence.
  • Acquire resources for training projects, provide technical management, and lead process improvements.
  • Manage training operations primarily with instructors sourced from a third-party purchased services labor provider, ensuring effective delivery of training programs.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain effective training programs that position Boeing as a regional industry leader in training
  • Supervise all activities related to training programs, ensuring standardization and compliance with regulatory and Boeing requirements.
  • Oversee the scheduling and supervision of training personnel, to include those as required by our labor vendor contracts.
  • Establish and maintain metrics to evaluate the success and quality of training outputs and outcomes.
  • Represent Boeing at select global industry and regulatory training conferences and committees.
  • Foster team development through effective performance management, ongoing feedback, and delegation of stretch assignments.
  • Shape the culture of the training team through action, presence, and reinforcement of desired behaviors.
  • Drive effective diversity, equity, and inclusion practices to build a culture of belonging while actively supporting the company’s D&I initiatives, goals, and commitments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five years of experience in a flight training or technical group within the aviation industry.
  • Two years of people leadership experience managing large workgroups, ideally with experience in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant aviation regulations and advisory circulars (MOLIT).
  • With experience on at least 1 Boeing aircraft as a PIC, also previous training manager experience.
  • Ability to make informed decisions on complex regulatory, contractual, and personnel issues.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, presentation) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships that drive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems and processes.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to facilitate cooperative relationships within the division and with external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of good judgment and strong business acumen.
  • High energy, optimistic, and executive-level presence with solid communication skills.
  • Skilled at making and defending tough decisions while considering the opinions of others.
  • Proven ability to influence change and drive a high-performance culture.
  • An active and effective leader who communicates well with their team to motivate and develop staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Previous senior level training management experience, ideally from a recognized training provider or customer airline.
  • Strong auditing and data analytics background.
  • Experienced Head of Training within the South Korea airline ecosystem, with robust knowledge of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) training regulations.

Additional Information:

  • Successful applicants will be classified as International Locally Hired Employees (ILHE), this is not an expat assignment.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, particularly for those who are not native English speakers.
  • Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll.
