Boeing is seeking a Missions Systems Engineer to join our P-8 Increment 3 Block 2 program in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for the functional check out of mission systems for the P-8 aircraft, with a focus on supporting the INC 3 Block 2 modification program. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, customers, and technical subject matter experts to ensure superior capability and performance of the aircraft. Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support for the modification, troubleshooting, and resolution of mission systems issues for the P-8 aircraft, focusing on the I3B2 modification program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and assess I3B2 program modification performance to ensure seamless mod incorporation onto the aircraft platform with particular focus on optimization of mission systems integration
  • Support troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve mission system test failures during the modification program
  • Work closely with customers, internal stakeholders, and technical contractors to diagnose mission systems issues, define technical solutions, and communicate progress and updates related to aircraft modifications and support

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2+ years’ experience in mission systems engineering, including experience with aircraft modifications, system integration, evaluation and airworthiness planning and management
  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor
  • Strong analytic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in a role that required excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working on P-8 Increment 3 Block 2 (I3B2) or similar modification programs
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of the P-8 aircraft or 737 and its mission systems
  • Experience working with USN program management or military customers

Typical Education & Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range Associate: $81,600 - $110,400

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $97,750 - $132,250
