Boeing Global Services is looking for a P-8 Operations Manager to lead the 1st or 2nd shift Operations Team for the modification of the P-8A at Boeings newest state of the art facility in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is a commercial derivative military aircraft developed by Boeing Defense based on a modified design of the 737-800ERX. The platform was initially developed for the US Navy, first flown in 2009 and introduced into service in 2013. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including submarine hunting, performing reconnaissance missions, and supporting search & rescue operations. Our program will retrofit the highly capable multi-mission platform for the next decade.

Position Responsibilities:

  • This management position is planned to be a 1st or 2nd Shift Operations Manager sharing the responsibility for the installation of the ECP-6 Modification to the P-8A Poseidon, the preservation requirements relevant to the 737-800 and/or the build-up and modification of the mission systems cabinets. Individual will manage salary and hourly technicians and support personnel performing activities within multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates salary and hourly technicians and support personnel.
  • Responsible for adherence to and oversite of established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Willing to travel up to 10%
  • 5+ years of experience in operations and/or manufacturing processes
  • 5+ years aerospace industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification
  • 1+ years of experience do you have working with the P-8 or 737 platform
  • 3+ years of experience working in safe for flight / aircraft delivery environment
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainment, maintenance, and modifications.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Government customers.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $96,900 - $131,100.

Security Clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
