Boeing Global Services is looking for an energetic P-8 Senior Operations Manager to lead the 2nd shift Operations Team for the modification of the P-8A at Boeing's new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Jacksonville, FL.

The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is a commercial derivative military aircraft based on a modified design of the 737-800ERX. The platform was initially developed for the US Navy, first flown in 2009 and introduced into service in 2013. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment for a diverse range of missions, including submarine hunting, performing reconnaissance missions and supporting search & rescue operations. Our program will retrofit the highly capable multi-mission platform for the next decade.

Position Responsibilities:

  • This management position is a 2nd Shift Senior Operations Manager responsible for the installation of the modification to the P-8A Poseidon, the preservation requirements relevant to the 737-800 and/or the build-up and modification of the mission systems cabinets.

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives.

  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first level managers.

  • Responsible for adherence to and oversite of established processes, accurate and timely work recording and contractual/regulatory compliance.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

An interim and/ or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in operations and/or manufacturing processes

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role 

  • Willing to work 2nd shift, including weekends and overtime

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with the P-8A or B737 aircraft

  • 5+ years of operations experience in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul organization

  • 5+ years of experience working with Government customers

  • 5+ years of experience implementing continuous process improvement, lean processes, and employee involvement and engagement strategies in a manufacturing environment

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certification

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.

Summary pay range: $124,950 – $169,050
