The BGS Defense Modification & Sustainment Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager – Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) to lead the P-8 Shipside Integrated Product Team and several Production Engineering Teams supporting USN and USAF Programs at Jacksonville, FL.  This team provides comprehensive engineering support for the modification, repair, and overhaul of F/A-18 airframes, F/A-18 flight control surfaces, KC-46 and P-8 airframes.  Selected candidate must be able to work in a high visible, fast-paced, diverse work environment supporting MRO Transformational initiatives.  The candidate will oversee, guide, and influence the technical leadership and the production engineering teams. This position is accountable to the USN/MRO Engineering Director within BGS Government Services for program execution, excellence and safety.  The candidate must have a strong technical background, business acumen, interpersonal and communication skills. Position is located in Jacksonville, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with senior leaders or executives on Program execution and performance.
  • Oversee the use of engineering metrics to report first time quality, on time delivery performance and throughput of engineering products and deliverables. Validate cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
  • Monitor/Oversight of technical risk management.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions
  • 5+ years of experience in leading Managing engineering teams
  • Prior Experience working with DoD Customers
  • 1+ years of experience with Proposals
  • EVM/CAM Experience
  • Capable to travel 25% of the time
  • Experience building relationships and partnering with customers and all levels of employees, including executives.
  • Experience in a role that required building cross-functional consensus among internal and external stakeholders to drive business results.
  • 1+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedules.
  • 1+ years of experience in preparing and giving presentations and discussing the essential elements of a technology in front of other architects, managers, and/or executives

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • The candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced, diverse work environment. This individual must be able to build a high performing team in a cross-functional work environment including engineering, manufacturing/operations, quality, and program management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary Pay Range: $178,500 – $241,500
