Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seekinga Auxiliary Power Systems Engineer (Senior or Principal) to join the team in Long Beach, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads definition of requirements for auxiliary power systems.

  • Leads definition, coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the auxiliary power system and the vehicle.

  • Leads development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Leads configuration and design of propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria.

  • Leads the use of various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate auxiliary power system performance.

  • Leads the definition and performance of certification tests for auxiliary power sub-systems and components.

  • Leads support of fielded systems by developing responses to customer queries and providing technical recommendations.

  • Leads development of concepts for future auxiliary power systems to meet anticipated requirements. Works under minimal direction.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (Long Beach, CA).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 5+ years of experience with system safety analysis and documentation

Preferred Qualification (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Experience with Airplane Extended Operations (ETOPS).

  • Knowledge of aircraft design, systems engineering, model-based engineering, system integration, requirements management, propulsion engineering, and turbo-machinery.

  • Understanding and application of Project Management.

  • Experience with Systems Troubleshooting.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

  • Senior (Level 4): $121,550 - $164,450

  • Principal (Level 5): $147,900 - $200,100
