Boeing is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Digital Manager to join the growing team in the Boeing Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center.  This role will be located El Segundo, CA, Herndon, VA or Berkeley, MO.

Additive manufacturing brings enormous opportunities to Boeing, including innovative designs, advanced tooling, enhanced flying platforms, individualized services, and many more. The enablement of scale and quality for additive manufacturing requires an end-to-end digital thread. Working within the Boeing Additive Manufacturing Intelligence Center, you will manage the deployment of the AM digital thread and advanced software tools to address business needs. You will partner with Boeing internal teams, universities, and public institutes to rapidly mature emerging technologies trends and products. You will work directly with additive manufacturing partners to address their needs on data collection, simulation, tool development and smart factory integration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads cross-functional teams to determine, define and deploy complex predictive/prescriptive analytic solutions to meet objectives of establishing the Digital Thread in Additive Manufacturing

  • Manages employees performing activities within multiple Engineering disciplines

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management, and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, coaches, develops and motivates employees

  • Actively support the design, development, debugging, testing, production hardening, and deployment of software tools for the Auburn Additive Manufacturing Facility to enable digital thread and digital twin capabilities.

  • Assists with analyses to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

  • Interface with and provide requirements for a geographically distributed software development team and the manufacturing environment.

  • Assist the implementation of shop floor digital solutions, data management strategies, and enable feedback loop of additive manufacturing data to support engineering design and qualification.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience leading projects and/or teams

  • 3+ years of experience in a lab/production environment

  • 1+ years of experience with Additive Manufacturing technologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Material Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering

  • Experience with Metal and Polymer Additive Manufacturing materials and processes technology development

  • Experience with developing data analytic tools and architectures to enable data scalability in an enterprise environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience monitoring group performance, provide status and communicate risks, issues, and roadblocks to business unit and program leadership

  • Experience with interpersonal and team building skills performed in a cross-functional environment

  • Prior Manager experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $129,200 - $187,450
