Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mid-Level Industrial Security Specialist to join its security team in El Segundo, CA.

As a Mid-Level Industrial Security Specialist, you will work with both senior and junior staff members to administer and implement US Industrial Security Standards as outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Manual (NISPOM), the DoD Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Administrative Security Manual, Special Access Program (SAP) Security rules and/or other authoritative sources of security regulations. As an individual contributor, you will ensure programmatic security posture is compliant with all applicable regulations.

The dynamic position will require the selected candidate must be a self-starter, possess proficiency in desktop computing and MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency with/utilize specific databases to determine personnel eligibility to access classified information – JPAS/DISS, Scattered Castles, JADE, JADS, Enterprise Security Systems (SIMS), and other databases and record-keeping repositories
  • Conduct initial and recurring security briefings to cleared workforce members on topics such as critical program information, marking, safeguarding and destroying classified information, operations security, physical and communication security, and other security training as required
  • Manage personnel records, classified material records and/or other sensitive records in to ensure the highest levels of data integrity and correctness
  • Conduct inventories and records reconciliation actions to ensure accuracy and accountability
  • Prepare activity or program concept of operation (CONOPs) outlining unique security protection requirements for sensitive operations; establish procedures for protecting, handling, storing, and transporting proprietary materials
  • Coordinate across the security workforce, Boeing engineering, managerial and technical teams, as well as senior Boeing personnel and U. S. Government customers to seek contract execution approvals, security rulings or deviations as may be required
  • Validates internal security controls through the performance of detailed compliance assessment reviews and self-inspections. Identifies deficiencies; and recommends and/or implements timely corrective action(s).
  • Assists lesser experienced employees with the administration and execution of security protocols.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.  The position will require the ability to obtain and maintain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and/or Special Access Program (SAP).

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

This position may be required to complete a U.S Government polygraph examination, therefore willingness to submit to a U.S. Government polygraph examination is required.

This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 6 or more years overall related work experience
  • 3 or more years of experience in a security support capacity such as, personnel security administration, physical security, communications security or other programmatic security-related field
  • 5 or more years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret clearance with a background investigation date within the last 6 years; In Scope polygraph examination
  • Prior A/CPSO, A/CSSO, or Industrial Security Analyst experience (3+years), Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in Industrial Security-related role or Master’s Degree and at last one year of specialized industrial security experience
  • CDSE, NSTI/SASSI or other Professional Certification in SAP Security, SCI Administration, ICD-705, JSIG/RMF, COMSEC, or related security certifications
  • Experience working in an SCI/SAP/Aerospace security/intelligence community environment
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM and DoD SAP Manuals
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to perform occasional second-shift or after-hours work schedules to accommodate program operations  
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationship with internal and external customers
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to assert control of large groups of people and comfortable with public speaking
  • Strong working knowledge of basic office automation tools such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically 6 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range: USD 69,000 – 123,000

This position may offer a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
