The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a First-Line Manufacturing Manager to join the Air Dominance Operations team in the Advanced Composite Fabrication Center (ACFC) located in Mesa, AZ. 

This position will require strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively work with the build team to support various proprietary programs. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Mesa, AZ. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Leads a diverse team of mechanics responsible for fabrication of various products and processes.  

  • Manage employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines, in multiple facilities/locations.

  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.

  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, processes and products.

  • Leads, develops and motivates employees.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and partners.

  • Promote employee engagement and build an organizational culture that fosters safety and quality performance, improves employee satisfaction and retains and develops a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Forecasts resource needs, obtains and manages personnel, facilities, equipment, training and tools to meet operating requirements.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • Ability to work 2nd Shift  

  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures.

  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes, initiatives and/or process improvement.

  • 3+ years manufacturing experience driving improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation and people on production and development programs

  • Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills with leadership and colleagues in an operations environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Experience with Advanced Composite Fabrication

  • Experience directly supporting a proprietary program

  • Knowledge working with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Work Shift:

This position will be for 2nd shift.

Summary pay range:

$96,900 to $131,100
