Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Project Management Specialist (Level 4 or 5) to join the International Apache Program located in Mesa, AZ.

This position will support international customer campaigns from proposal phase through to contract award and transition to execution. This individual will be leading international Production Programs through contract negotiations and award to execute the delivery of the Apache Aircraft.

Responsibilities include working directly with internal stakeholders and external USG/International customers defining customer requirements for proposals and understanding contract requirements for Program Execution. Additional job duties include overseeing current Apache contracts as part of the Program Management Office.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion to include responsibilities for cross-functional teams across multiple organizations. Oversight and management responsibility (including performance management and reporting) for projects in support of organizational goals and objectives.

  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case. Manages RIO for Campaigns and Production Programs.

  • Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry.

  • Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry standards. Develops solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. Special opportunity to manage Obsolescence projects.

  • Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, and program initiatives. Provides in-depth analysis of projects culminating with lessons learned and historical reports for incorporation into future project plans.

  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives to include coordination with contracts on contracting actions, supply chain on parts demands and fulfillment, and operations interface for aircraft production through to aircraft deliveries to customers. 

  • Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies and contractual requirements.

  • Focus on Financials (i.e., Estimate at Completions (EACs) and Company Funds Requests), and program cost and schedule performance.

  • Provide PMO support to operations as required during aircraft production phase and can include attendance in daily early-morning, in-person, manufacturing tier meetings.

  • Provide project and program status in the form of briefings, white papers and presentations at executive and customer meetings and reviews.

  • Create reports, metrics, change activity, communicates, and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project.

  • Works to improve project management processes and business systems and implements best practices that support project decision makers.

  • Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers.

  • Mentor others in Project Management and functional areas on best practices and program execution to assist employee development and program support.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications such as SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.

  • 5+ years' experience communicating with internal and external customers.

  • 5+ years’ experience managing projects and utilizing standard project management. tools/methodologies to include developing project plans, use of performance. management, and managing issues and risks.

  • 5+ years’ experience with government proposals and contracts.

  • Experience leading and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.

  • Experience interfacing with and presenting to Senior and/or executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience identifying and documenting Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIO).

  • Knowledge of Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) or equivalent.

  • Experience with Apache manufacturing and engineering along with technical knowledge of the Apache helicopter.

  • Demonstrated critical-business and financial acumen.

  • 5+ years of experience in a production-related discipline such as Manufacturing, Quality, Production Engineering, Supplier Management, and/or Supplier Quality.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.). 

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require 10% travel both domestic and internationally.

Summary pay range for Level 4: $107,950 - $146,050 

Summary pay range for Level 5: $132,600 - $179,400
