Boeing is looking for Environment Health and Safety Specialist.

This position will further complement the existing EHS team with consideration of the growth of Boeing activities in the UK. The purpose of the role will be to provide practical support to management and employees to enable us to achieve a high standard of EHS performance at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, while providing support for other locations within the UKI region as required.

This role provides an opportunity for someone new to workplace safety to further develop their skill and knowledge in this field, working with an established team in a dynamic working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of this role will be to provide practical support to management and employees to Enable Boeing to achieve a high standard of EHS performance.
  • This role will support the existing on site EHS specialist and work closely with the rest of the regional EHS team.
  • Responsibilities will include day-to-day EHS support for risk assessment, EHS procedures, communications, EHS inspections, induction training, EHS observations, Emergency procedures, accident investigations, and environmental compliance and sustainability.
  • Prepare compliance and technical reports to meet Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
  • Act as an EHS POC on site and interact as required with regulatory agencies. Prepare and submits permit applications.
  • Perform program reviews, investigate incidents and provide corrective action to prevent reoccurrence of incidents.
  • Evaluate workplace hazards. Provide input to new business opportunities and facilities projects to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct education and training to support regulatory and business requirements.
  • Evaluate impact of new regulations on company operations.
  • Review vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals.
  • The role will cover the Boeing operation at Middle Wallop along with support for other sites within the region and will require some travel to other sites as directed.

Basic/ Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants will need a minimum of a level 3 qualification in Health and Safety or Environmental management.
  • Solid verbal and written English skills.

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

  • It is desirable that applicants will have experience with working in an aircraft maintenance environment.

The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite at the listed location.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Important Information: Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work in the UK. Boeing will not seek immigration or labour sponsorship for applicants. Benefits and pay are determined locally and are not part of Boeing U.S.-based payroll.
