Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager for Materials Management & Transpiration (Level M) to join our dynamic team in across New Orleans, LA (preferred) and Kennedy Space Center, FL

This strong enthusiastic leader with a healthy understanding of Materials Management will lead the Materials Management team to enable Program Execution in support of Production health and developmental/proprietary program milestones. Will also strengthen leadership, manage and integrate employees, frontline leaders and senior\mid-level manager’s activities across more than one discipline in Materials Management through lean methodologies and innovative solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads material flow management, factory material positioning, tool services, and logistics integration.
  • Formulates Materials Management operational plans and objectives, including metrics to monitor progress.
  • Develops and implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements/deadlines are achieved.
  • Conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of goals.
  • Implements policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent execution of processes in support of organization quality standards and/or functional excellence across the mesa site.
  • Develops and implements appropriate corrective action plans.
  • Responds to Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and independent audit findings and contracting officer inquiries.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve work related products and processes within Materials Management.
  • Forges partnerships with supply chain personnel and guides efforts to develop business solutions to maximize inventory performance while minimizing cost.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees, frontline leaders, and senior\mid-level managers, fosters a climate that unleashes individual and organizational talent working together with the highest ethical standards.
  • Implements strategies to improve open and honest communication within the organization to include proactively sharing information with employees, peers and customers on organizational and functional goals; listens to employee concerns and suggestions.
  • Promotes and demonstrates the Boeing Behaviors.
  • Demonstrates commitment to employee and workplace safety.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred; or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience performing in a leadership role, including establishing business and/or functional process policies/strategies, objectives, and management/ownership of associated risks
  • 5+ many years of experience supporting Operations, Materials Management and/or Supply Chain functions in a production environment
  • 5+ years of experience in business requirements and analysis on teams and projects that involve cross-functional and/or cross-business domains with management interface

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience with Materials Management and/or Supply Chain business systems
  • 10+ years of experience performing in a leadership role, including establishing business and/or functional process policies/strategies, objectives, and management/ownership of associated risks
  • 10+ years of experience in business requirements and analysis on teams and projects that involve cross-functional and/or cross-business domains with management interface
  • Proficient in Supply Chain Systems (Compass, SCARs, GOLD)
  • Master’s degree or higher

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 25% of the time.

Summary pay range: $150,450 - $203,550
