Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Flight Readiness Technician Team Lead. This position will support the 787 Program Boeing South Carolina (BSC) delivery Center Operations Team in North Charleston, SC.

In this role you will plan, schedule, and arrange activities for aircraft on the BSC Flightline. You will also perform and provide necessary coaching and mentorship to support activity execution of the following:

  • Flight test installations and functional testing.

  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems to isolate mechanical or electrical/electronic faults and repair faulty components.

  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight checks and perform maintenance and modification actions.

  • Resolve problems during operation and testing of deliverable products.

  • Perform system and subsystem pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance in preparation for delivery.

  • Document repair, test, and inspection results.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Pre-shift planning

  • Tier I meetings

  • Team status updates

  • Labor loss

  • Production control

  • Training

  • Process improvement and Lean/BPS

  • Build effective resource plans that support SOW execution and milestone completion with team and crew coordination

  • Identify and communicate risks to First Line Leader with efficiency

  • Monitor and report daily progress to plan across multiple functions

  • Work with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk

  • Document and communicate shift turnover

  • Establish overtime requirements, execution plan and staffing

  • Crew level oversight of 5S

  • Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training

  • Verify accuracy of work performed and may conduct self-inspection

  • Ability and professionalism in support of airline customer interaction

  • Identify KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and LMS Kaizen improvement actions, and follows up with actions and tasks associated at weekly Kamishibai and Gemba walks

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of one year of 787 Operations experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel

  • Experience with computing & operating systems: Velocity, CMES, IVT

  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the Team Lead function

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Team Lead experience

  • A&P License

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

$62,050- $83,950
