Dreamlifter Operations Boeing Commercial Airplane's (BCA) North Charleston, SC is actively seeking a highly qualified candidate who possesses an advanced technical understanding of contract compliance, fleet management, and heavy equipment maintenance for Level 3 or Level 4. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintenance programming and management, as well as training program oversight. Additionally, they will demonstrate a strong proficiency in quality assurance and control, coupled with advanced problem-solving abilities and project management expertise. Experience with Safety

Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) oversight, particularly with a focus on process improvement, is strongly desired. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs tailored to airline ground operations, ensuring that all personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and efficiently.

They will regularly assess the effectiveness of training initiatives through performance metrics and feedback, making data-driven adjustments to enhance learning outcomes and operational performance. The candidate will be adept at overseeing all facets of supplier performance related to heavy equipment maintenance and ground handling operations, ensuring that every activity contributes to the safe and efficient loading and offloading of Boeing cargo transported on our fleet of 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter (Dreamlifter) aircraft.

They will possess expertise in leading, coordinating, and developing baseline support concepts, effectively driving initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reliability. This candidate will proactively identify and address inconsistencies in the daily operational rhythm of airline ground handling operations and heavy equipment line maintenance, employing strategic problem-solving skills to implement effective solutions. In addition, they will play a crucial role in supporting wellness inspection (audit) activities, measuring and ensuring supplier compliance and operational efficacy. This includes identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary to enhance overall performance.

The candidate will also spearhead long-term initiatives for specialized support equipment, effectively utilizing part obsolescence program systems to guarantee the availability and reliability of critical components. They will enhance the development of unique fleet maintenance programs that align with organizational goals and industry best practices, ensuring that all maintenance activities are executed with precision and efficiency. Furthermore, they will continuously evaluate quality assurance and quality control practices, as well as the effectiveness of safety and compliance programs, implementing strategic process improvements that drive operational excellence and significantly enhance safety outcomes across all operations.

The candidate must demonstrate a strong willingness to respond to worldwide emergent requirements, showcasing adaptability and a proactive approach to addressing challenges as they arise. They should be comfortable collaborating with a diverse team in a dynamic environment that promotes flexible work schedules, allowing for a balance between individual responsibilities and team objectives. While a significant portion of their time will be dedicated to ground operations compliance, safety, and optimization, the candidate will also play a vital role in various program activities, including the development of comprehensive plans, schedules, and specialized operational protocols that are applicable to the broader program.

Additionally, they will actively support Dreamlifter operations across our five main operating locations, necessitating travel of up to 20% of the time. This travel will provide opportunities to engage directly with teams on-site, ensuring alignment with operational goals and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence across all locations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

Position Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and nurtures robust business relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that in-service requirements are met and that performance aligns with contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Oversees the performance of supplier and subcontractor ground services, ensuring strict compliance with contract objectives, as well as regulatory, state, and local requirements, while effectively meeting the production schedule demands of Boeing Aircraft Programs.
  • Develops and actively participates in the implementation of comprehensive supply base plans that support customer needs, program objectives, and commodity strategies.
  • Analyzes and monitors supplier quality, delivery, and financial performance data to identify potential risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducts a thorough analysis of all facets of ground operations performance, identifying gaps and developing targeted mitigation plans to address any deficiencies.
  • Identifies and actively participates in supplier and business improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
  • Provides actionable insights and outcomes for potential integration into contracting strategies, ensuring that all agreements are aligned with best practices and organizational objectives.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Contract Compliance
  • 5+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams and creating and presenting materials in front of multi-levels of leadership
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • 5+ years of experience in Heavy Equipment Maintenance 
  • 5+ years of experience in Problem Solving and Process Improvement
  • 2+ years of experience in Training Program Supervision or Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Project Management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience directly supporting airline ground operations
  • 5+ years of experience in managing cost, schedule, and performance for complex projects
  • 5+ years of experience in overseeing and managing airline ground operations training programs
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • 5+ years of experience in QMS and SMS Oversight
  • Aviation safety certification or equivalent education
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® or equivalent
  • International Air Transport Association diplomas and certificates

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range:

Level 3: $88,400 - $119,600

Level 4: $102,850 - $139,150
