Do you have a passion for aviation, specifically helicopters and aspire to teach the next generation of aviation maintainers? If so, we're recruiting for a Maintenance Instructor / Assessor - B2 (Avionics) to join our team on a permanent basis.

The position is based at the Army Aviation Training Centre, Oakey Qld and the opportunity will see you training and developing the next generation of ADF aircraft maintenance engineers. In accordance with the ADFs regulatory requirements, you'll be involved in the delivery of CH-47F academic, practical and on-the-job training and assessment to provide job ready, confident and competent maintenance technicians.

Team members work as an imbedded workforce to support the customers personnel training requirements. This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity whereby we as a customer focused team:

  • Develop and implement methods of face-to-face training as well as exploring student centred learning methodologies.
  • Developing training materials and practical activities to consolidate the trainees learning experience.
  • Providing exceptional support to students and key stakeholders within the Army Aviation industry located at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.

The Opportunity -

In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Instructor / Assessor - B2 (Avionics)for the Chinook Integrated Support Service (CISS) Program within the CH-47F Maintenance Training Team. Your exceptional training and leadership skills can provide you with a challenging role in a unique environment.

The role is based at based Swartz Barracks, Oakey, QLD.

As a Maintenance Instructor / Assessor (Avionics)you will:

  • Deliver of contracted CH-47F B2 Aircraft Type and associated maintenance support training in a theory and practical environment, in accordance with appropriate Learning Management Packages (LMPs) and schedules.
  • Work in the capacity of a CH-47F Course Manager as required.
  • Develop of training package materials through continuous improvement activities.
  • Review and amendment of assessment instruments.
  • Support the CH-47F Training Team Lead with the maintenance and upkeep of training aids and simulators within the appointed Training Facility.
  • Maintain currency on Aircraft Type as a maintainer, as part of continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of the DASR 147 aligned Training System.

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience on CH-47F Aircraft Avionics Type Qualification (B2 MAML), or equivalent and 10 years' experience as a Rotary Wing B2 Aviation Maintenance Tradesperson, Aviation Supervisor, and/ or Aviation Maintenance Manager.
  • Must hold a Certificate IV in Aero skills (Avionics)

Desirable:

  • Experience with the delivery of training in the Defence environment.
  • Interpersonal skills to work in a multi-trade team environment.
  • Hold a Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116) or equivalent qualification, or willingness to achieve this qualification as part of your role.
  • Understanding of DASA Part 147 and 66 Regulations.
  • Highly competent Aeroskills Instructor/Mentor/Coach and Courseware Development skills.
