The BDS M&PT (Materials & Processes Technology) team is seeking a M&P Engineer to join the team in Oklahoma City, OK (OKC). The candidate will be joining a team responsible for developing, defining, and driving Engineering and Technology requirements across multiple programs, focusing on Commercial Derivative Military Aircraft Programs (CDMA) in the Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) portfolio.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will have an emphasis on supporting the design, manufacturing, and after delivery product support of maintenance, modifications, and upgrades applied to various airframes supported at the OKC site

  • Must be capable of reviewing engineering drawings for correct M&P callouts and design; create and revise specifications, processes, procedures or reports; and function in an integrated product team (IPT) environment

  • Requires not only interfacing with Boeing personnel but with outside suppliers, Air Force and Navy customer and FAA representatives 

  • Advise stakeholders on the properties and fabrication of metal parts and composite parts as well as assembly and fabrication topics

  • Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into processes, design, qualification, and work procedures

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently but also willing to work and learn from others. 

  • Must be able to develop solutions to technical problems by applying working knowledge, engineering and scientific principles. 

  • The ability to expand beyond the assigned structural/mechanical technology skill such as supporting efforts related to composites and non-metallic materials and related manufacturing processing, hazardous materials, and electrical bonding and grounding. 

  • Some business travel will be required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. And a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience or a Master’s degree (Level 2)

  • 1+ years of engineering experience

  • 1+ years of experience in developing solutions to technical problems by applying working knowledge, engineering and scientific principles

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Mechanical or manufacturing or engineering technology degree

  • Experience in materials, structural, or chemical engineering

  • Working knowledge of structural, mechanical components used in aerospace applications

  • Familiarity with obsolescence and counterfeit assessments

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $72,250 - $97,750
