Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an experienced Senior Aircraft Readiness & Delivery Manager - UK E-7 (Level M) to manage our 3 aircraft through their Flight Test Programand Delivery for the United Kingdon (UK) E-7 Program. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in test risk management and cross-functional coordination to ensure program success and will report to the UK E-7 Program Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and proven ability to deliver complex programs on schedule and within budget. Initially, this role will be based in Oklahoma City, OK or Tukwila, WA.

This position requires significant travel to the UK, including extended stays at the production site in Birmingham, UK, and the test sites in Boscombe Down, UK and Lossiemouth, Scotland. A long-term expatriate assignment may be required depending on program needs.

The Aircraft Readiness & Delivery Manager for the UK E-7 Program is accountable for orchestrating the full aircraft delivery lifecycle for a fleet of militarized 737-based platforms undergoing extensive modification and flight test. This role ensures aircraft are delivered to the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) in accordance with contract requirements, airworthiness standards, and agreed delivery schedules.

This position operates at the intersection of program execution, flight test coordination, and customer delivery, serving as the primary integrator of aircraft readiness across internal teams (flight test, engineering, quality, operations) and external stakeholders (UK MOD and Defense Equipment and Support (DE&S)).

The Aircraft Readiness & Delivery Manager owns delivery integration, milestone accountability, and customer interface through to aircraft handover.

Entry into this classification is limited to candidates approved by the enterprise-wide Program Management Process Council or its designee. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the aircraft-level delivery plan for each UK E-7 tail from test readiness through formal customer handover
  • Manage coordination across modification, ground/flight test, airworthiness, documentation, and logistics to meet contractual delivery dates
  • Serve as the program focal for UK MOD and DE&S representatives on aircraft readiness and delivery planning
  • Drive closure of aircraft-level issues impacting delivery: squawks, test discrepancies, deferred items, and documentation gaps
  • Chair delivery readiness reviews and coordinate signoffs with UK MOD, internal quality teams, and certification authorities
  • Track aircraft configuration status, flight hours, test points, and acceptance criteria in partnership with engineering and test operations
  • Provide regular delivery status updates to senior leadership and support executive-level customer engagements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience with commercial and/or defense aircraft test program management
  • Experience with military certification and airworthiness
  • 5+ years of experience in mission systems engineering, including experience with aircraft modifications, system integration, evaluation and airworthiness program planning and management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to travel extensively to the UK, with potential for an expatriate assignment.
  • Strong program execution skills in a matrixed environment, coordinating across engineering, quality, and operations
  • Experience with commercial derivative military flight test programs

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Responsible for managing and overseeing the aircraft through their lifecycle from Birmingham to Boscombe Down to Lossiemouth, Scotland. Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally more than 50% of the time

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for:

Oklahoma City, OK: $167,450 – $226,550

Tukwila, WA: $192,950 - $261,050
